Free Google Play Screenshot Generator for Android Phones & Tablets

Compose a Play listing the way Play Console wants it: phone screenshots at 1080×1920, tablet sets at 1200×1920 and 1600×2560, and the 1024×500 feature graphic. It runs in your browser, adds no watermark, and never uploads your images.

Google Play screenshot sizes

Play Console asks for one set per device type. Each set is uploaded separately, and a listing that only has phone shots still works — Play crops them for tablets.

How to upload screenshots to Google Play Console

  1. 01

    Open the store listing

In Play Console, go to your app, then Grow, then Store presence, then Main store listing. The graphics live under the Store listing editor.

  2. 02

    Upload the phone set

Drop in up to eight 1080×1920 images. The first one is what people see in search results, so it has to work as a thumbnail.

  3. 03

    Add the feature graphic

Upload the 1024×500 banner. It sits behind your icon and title at the top of the listing, and it is the only graphic a listing cannot ship without.

  4. 04

    Add tablet sets

If your app runs on tablets, add a 1200×1920 or 1600×2560 set. Play will otherwise crop your phone screenshots for you.

  5. 05

    Preview, then publish

Check the store preview on a phone and a tablet before you roll the release out. Screenshots that crop badly are the usual reason a listing gets rejected on review.

Play listing examples by category

The same canvas reads differently per category. These are the shapes that tend to work, with copy you can adapt.

  • Productivity app

Plan the week in one screen.

Drag tasks between days. Everything reschedules when something slips.

Lead with the finished state, not the feature list. A productivity app wins on the outcome shot — the calendar already full of colour.

Tone. Calm, roomy, one accent colour. Whitespace is the product.

  • Fitness app

    Every workout. Counted.

Sets, reps, and rest timers that start when you do.

Show the number, not the person. A visible set counter reads as precision in a category full of vague promises.

Tone. High contrast and high energy. Dark canvases with one acid accent outperform soft pastels here.

  • Finance app

    See where the money went.

Every account, one balance, updated the moment it moves.

Numbers must be readable at thumbnail size. One figure, large, with the rest of the UI behind it and slightly dimmed.

Tone. Restrained and trustworthy. Ink navy or graphite with a single amber accent reads as money without shouting.

  • AI app

Ask once. Get the whole draft.

Describe the output you want. Edit the result, not the prompt.

Put a real result on the slide. Everyone's competitor is showing a prompt; showing the answer is the differentiator.

Tone. Dark, technical, and precise. Violet or cyan on near-black signals the category without the usual neon gradient.

Google Play screenshot FAQ

Do Google Play screenshots need to be 1080×1920?

For phone screenshots, yes — 1080×1920 is the size Play Console expects. You can upload fewer than eight, but each image should be 1080×1920. Tablet sets are 1200×1920 for 7-inch and 1600×2560 for 10-inch devices.

What is a Google Play feature graphic?

It is the 1024×500 banner at the top of your Play Store listing, showing behind your app icon and title. It is the only required graphic, and it shows up when someone opens your listing page.

How many screenshots can I upload to Google Play?

Up to 8 phone screenshots and up to 4 per tablet device type, plus one feature graphic and up to 2 promo videos. The first phone screenshot is the one that appears in search results.

Can I use the same screenshots for Play and the App Store?

You can reuse the artwork, but not the file. Play phone shots are 1080×1920 and App Store iPhone shots are 1320×2868 — different aspect ratios, so each store needs its own export.

Do Google Play screenshots need a device frame?

No. Play renders your image edge to edge. Most good Play listings use a full-bleed canvas with no bezel, which gives the artwork more room and avoids the double frame you get from a screenshot that already has a phone frame in it.

What file format does Google Play accept?

24-bit PNG and JPEG, at 8 MB or less per file. PNG keeps flat colour and type crisp at 1080×1920, which is why it is the safer default for listing graphics.

Can I localize Google Play screenshots?

Yes. Each language in your Play listing carries its own graphics, so every language needs its own set of files. App Snaps keeps a separate caption per language in one project, so you can export a full Play set per locale from a single deck.

Does the Google Play screenshot generator add a watermark?

No. App Snaps is free, runs in your browser, and exports without a watermark and without an account. Your images never leave your device.
