Seasonal app listing update checklist

A seasonal listing update should connect a real use case to a timely moment. Plan the campaign assets and their removal date together so the store does not keep showing outdated seasonal artwork.

Choose a season that fits the product

Use Christmas, New Year, Black Friday, Ramadan, back-to-school, or another event only when it connects naturally to the app’s audience or current use. Do not add seasonal decoration that obscures the product.

Keep the core promise intact

Adapt the palette or examples while preserving accurate feature claims and recognizable product UI. Make sure the first screenshot still explains why the app is useful outside the campaign moment.

Prepare localized versions

Check dates, currencies, examples, and imagery for every target locale. An event or offer may not be relevant or appropriate in every market, so avoid a single global creative by default.

Set a publishing and expiry plan

Schedule review, store submission, campaign links, and a date to restore evergreen assets. Keep the standard version ready so a delayed review or expired promotion does not leave the listing with stale claims.

Measure the campaign in context

Record the asset change and campaign dates, then compare relevant store and campaign data. Account for paid traffic, promotions, and seasonal demand before attributing a change to the screenshots alone.

Keep an evergreen fallback ready

Store review and release timing can outlast the campaign window. Keep the approved evergreen screenshots and feature graphic ready so you can switch back without rebuilding the whole listing.

Give temporary claims an explicit end date in the campaign plan. Remove expired prices, dates, event references, or limited-time language from the store assets and destination page.

Respect local calendars and imagery

A seasonal moment in one market may be ordinary, irrelevant, or culturally sensitive in another. Check local dates, symbols, and language with someone familiar with the audience before exporting a translated campaign.

If an offer differs by storefront, keep the eligibility and terms clear in the destination. Do not let a global screenshot imply that the same promotion is available everywhere.

Work backwards from the campaign date

Allow time for design review, localization, store processing, and a final live-page check. The artwork should be ready early enough that a review delay does not push an expired offer into the listing.

Set a reminder for the date to restore evergreen assets and assign an owner. A seasonal export without a removal plan often remains live after the campaign is over.

Keep claims and availability consistent

If a screenshot mentions a discount, event, or seasonal feature, confirm the terms and availability for every storefront where it appears. Keep the destination page and app behavior aligned with that statement.

Remove the seasonal claim from both the listing and any linked landing page when it expires. Check cached social images separately because they may remain visible after the store assets are replaced.

Avoid outdated seasonal claims

Use an explicit campaign end date for every asset that mentions a discount, event, date, or limited-time feature. Assign someone to restore evergreen artwork and verify the public listing once the campaign finishes.

Review the store page after the change and check any linked web campaign separately. Replacing screenshots does not automatically update social cards or cached previews that use a different image URL.

Keep a change log for the campaign

Record the assets changed, target locales, publish date, campaign dates, and the person responsible for restoring the evergreen set. This avoids relying on memory when several seasonal campaigns overlap.

Keep the original listing exports unchanged and create a separate seasonal variant. If the promotion changes or review is delayed, you can return to the approved set without reconstructing it.

Build a seasonal screenshot variant

Adapt a visual template while keeping the product interface and message clear.
